Reflection
The attendance of
online learners has increased compared to the previous month. The Reasons could
be due to recent survey carried out by the school which addressed the problems
of individual students. The topic that I
have chosen for this time was teaching of high frequency words. I made a short
video clip and sent it to students. My clip was simply to read that particular
word with correct pronunciation. It was between 9 am till 10.30 am. I asked all
my students to stay online during the above given time. At least 60 percent of
the students were online. I posted the video along with the voice instruction and
they sent me voice message reading that particular word. I found that most of
my students were excited to read those words online in the common forum. I also
learned that there were few students who couldn’t read as per the given
instruction.
There were few students
who did not want to respond despite of my repeated instruction. Over all I am
not satisfied with my lesson. I learned that we- chat is not appropriate to
teach reading and I wanted to switch to zoom meeting in the next class to teach
reading for class pp students
